License Compatibility Checker

Put the licenses of the works you want to combine into one bundle. The DALICC reasoner checks them against each other. When they fit together, pick the license you would like to publish the result under, and the checker composes a licensing statement you can download and keep with your work.

DALICC checks licenses against their models and does not replace legal advice. For a decision that matters, ask a lawyer.

What the check cannot see

The check compares what the licenses permit, prohibit and require as DALICC models them, and the compatibility a license record grants by name, in the direction it is granted (for example CC BY-SA 4.0 into GPL-3.0). It does not see compatibility that no license states, clauses the vocabulary cannot express (for example a ban on selling or on production use), or the license texts themselves. Read the license texts before you combine them. How the check works.

The target license is the single license you would like the combined work to be published under. DALICC then reports, for every license in the bundle, whether it can be released under that target.
