DEVELOPMENT VERSION: This is an experimental DALICC environment. Features, data and APIs may change or be reset without notice. A stable version of this service, with a potentially different feature set, will be made available soon at dalicc.net.

Changes to the license models

What DALICC changed in its curated models, when, and why.

A license model is corrected when a reading of the legal text turns out to be wrong. Every correction changes what the compatibility checker answers, so each change below names the reason behind it and links to the record it was made on.

6081 changes, page 25 of 122.

  • Elastic License 2.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    changed Prohibition: Change license

    was Prohibition: Change license

Manual edit The statement now quotes the sentence of the licence text it rests on: "These terms do not imply any licenses other than those expressly granted in these terms."

  • Elastic License 2.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    changed Prohibition: Change license

    was Prohibition: Change license

Manual edit Removed the quoted evidence of prohibition dalicc:ChangeLicense: the quoted sentence does not name the act. The statements stay, read from the text without a linked quote.

  • Elastic License 2.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    changed Permission: Reproduce

    was Permission: Reproduce

Manual edit The statement now quotes the sentence of the licence text it rests on: "The licensor grants you a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, non-sublicensable, non-transferable license to use, copy, distribute, make available, and prepare derivative works of the software, in each case subject to the limitations and conditions below."

  • Elastic License 2.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    added License: >

Manual edit Every record is published under CC BY 4.0. cc:license names the record DALICC keeps of that licence; dct:license now names it by the address Creative Commons publishes it at, so that a consumer matching the canonical IRI finds it.

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    added SPDX identifier: "EPL-1.0"

Review finding Added EPL-1.0; the title matches the SPDX name.

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    removed Prohibition: Promote

Manual edit Weak-copyleft family alignment of 2026-09-15: the record is brought onto the shape of CPL-1.0 and IPL-1.0, which model the same text. Section 2(a) grants the right to 'reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and sublicense the Contribution', so dalicc:sublicense replaces the older spelling odrl:grantUse and dalicc:ModifiedWorks is stated; the attribution, notice and source duties that sat on the derivative-works permission move onto odrl:modify and odrl:derive, where the rest of the family carries them; the unsupported dalicc:noWarrantyNotice permission and dalicc:addStatement prohibition go, because section 3 lets a distributor add its own notices rather than forbidding it; and the dalicc:promote prohibition goes, because this text has no trademark or endorsement clause at all.

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

added Prohibition: Patent license ends on a patent claim

Manual edit The review's finding on family consistency and consolidation decision 4: the record modelled no reciprocity although section 3 says 'When the Program is made available in source code form: a) it must be made available under this Agreement', it made no patent statement although section 2(b) grants one and section 7 ends it on patent litigation, and dct:publisher and cc:attributionName both ended with a space.

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    removed Prohibition: Add statement

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

    removed Prohibition: Share alike

Review finding Section 3 states: "When the Program is made available in source code form ... it must be made available under this Agreement". Prohibiting cc:ShareAlike asserts the opposite. Removed.

  • Eclipse Public License 1.0 version 2 2026-09-24

changed Permission: Modify, with the duties Share alike, Modification notice

was Permission: Modify, with the duties Modification notice

Manual edit The review's finding on family consistency and consolidation decision 4: the record modelled no reciprocity although section 3 says 'When the Program is made available in source code form: a) it must be made available under this Agreement', it made no patent statement although section 2(b) grants one and section 7 ends it on patent litigation, and dct:publisher and cc:attributionName both ended with a space.
